FIELD MOB
Field Mob is a hip hop group from Albany, Georgia. Their name represents The Field, a small area of Albany where Smoke and Shawn Jay grew up. The two met in high school in the school courtyard while freestyling. The Mob landed a deal with a small independent record label and recorded their first single which caught the attention of MCA Records. MCA quickly signed them to a deal, and in 2000, they released their first album, “613: Ashy to Classy.” Their 2002 follow-up, “From Tha Roota to Tha Toota,” showed them collaborating with Trick Daddy. They have recently signed with Ludacris and his Disturbing Tha Peace record label. Their hot single, "So What", is produced by Jazze Pha and guest stars R&B singer, Ciara which is Smoke’s cousin. Their latest album “Light Poles and Pine Trees” was released in 2006.
