LUDACRIS
Ludacris is a Grammy Award winning rapper. He was born Christopher Brian Bridges on September 11, 1977 in Champaign, Illinois. He then later moved to Atlanta, Georgia . Before he became the Dirty South's most popular rapper, Ludacris DJed at an Atlanta radio station and made a name for himself in the area. He then decided he wanted to become a rapper after working with Timbaland on his “Tim's Bio” album in 1998. In 2000, he released his debut album, “Incognegro” on his independent Disturbing tha Peace label which became a regional hit. Since the Dirty South movement was gaining steam and Def Jam wanted to start a Def Jam South subsidiary, they signed Ludacris and repackaged the tracks along with a few new productions. Def Jam then released “Back for the First Time” in 2000. The single "What's Your Fantasy?" became an enormous success. Ludacris then toured the States with OutKast and released a flood of successive hit singles. In 2001, he returned with, “Word of Mouf “which peaked at number three on the Billboard album chart. Furthermore, he contributed to hits for other artists, most notably Missy Elliott's "One Minute Man" and Jermaine Dupri's "Welcome to Atlanta" He also released “Golden Grain” in 2002, with his “Disturbing tha Peace” posse. The follow-up, “Chicken -N- Beer”, was released in 2003, and he returned in 2004 with “Red Light District.” In 2006, he returned with a more introspective album, “Release Therapy.”
